The month of October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Women of all ethnicity and ages are equally vulnerable to violence by an intimate partner. In the first quarter of 2016, Nevada had a total of 9,869 reported cases of domestic abuse, and of that number, 730 were male victims. While the majority of victims that seek help range between the ages of 18 to 64, there are far too many cases involving children and seniors above the age of 65.
The Nevada Network Against Domestic Violence is dedicated to advocating for change, educating our community and providing support services to victims.
