Happy Holidays

As we reflect on the events that have affected this great country and the world in the past year, both the triumphs and the tragedies, one cannot help but realize the fragile edge upon which we live, and that we are all in this world together.

However, humans are both resourceful, as well as, resilient and will work through setbacks to become smarter and stronger.

2015 has been a year of solid growth for the national economy and continued growth in Nevada. While Nevada’s jobless rate at 6.5 percent still runs well above the national average of 5 percent, employers did add 30,900 jobs year over year, for the 59th straight month of annual job gains. And, as we end this year, the Las Vegas Valley is poised to see even more economic growth in 2016 with the construction of the 26-acre, 350,000 sq. ft. Ikea store and the groundbreaking of the $1 billion, 3 million-square-foot Faraday automobile manufacturing plant that will employ 4,000 workers.

In November, Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air announced the expansion of its direct flights to and from Oklahoma City, St. Louis, San Antonio, Orlando, and Fort Lauderdale. This year also saw additional flights into Las Vegas from Virgin America and Frontier Airlines.

Of course, all of those new airline flights will be needed as projects on the Las Vegas strip start to come online, Genting Berhad’s $4 billion Resorts World Las Vegas, the $350 million MGM-AEG arena, and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s $2.3 billion Las Vegas Global Business District. In addition to additional revenue, those projects also mean an increase in both construction and permanent jobs for area residents.

As you prepare your business for 2016, we would like to take this time to thank all of the clients and friends who have supported Business Finance Corporation this past year and look forward to continuing as “Your partner in success.”

We wish everyone a very happy and safe holiday season and look forward to a Happy, Healthy, Peaceful, Prosperous and Successful New Year for all.
